The directors of the practice have over 50 years experience in the Melbourne development market. Artisan Architects is committed to provide the best results for each of our clients. Our consultative approach ensures that the needs of our clients are ultimately understood and delivered with the best results.

The practice is led by its two founding directors: John Hair and Andrew Pham

John Hair

Managing Director
With 30 years in the profession, John has a wealth of design experience on projects of varying scales and types including residential, retail, commercial and hospitality.

Over the past 25 years, he has focused his attention mainly on the residential and commercial sectors, working on a succession of large scale signature projects in Melbourne and throughout the rest of Australia.

John works directly with clients from the project inception through the town planning process, marketing, design development and onto the completion of the development.

John’s fundamental strength lies in his ability to ensure that projects are managed successfully through each stage of the process and that outstanding results are achieved under the guiding influence of the client brief.
Andrew Pham

Andrew has over 20 years of experience having worked at some of the leading practices in Melbourne. He has been involved in a wide variety of projects ranging from single houses, multi-unit, mixed use residential developments to commercial and educational projects.

Andrew is involved with the projects from the schematic stage, town planning application through to design development, contract documentation and site administration.

He brings to the projects a strong conceptual design framework, underpinned with a wide range of experience in construction techniques to create elegant and buildable solutions for each project.
Chris Poulson

Associate
With a background in Architectural drafting, Chris completed an Advanced Diploma in Building Design and Technology, going on to work in Commercial Architecture for several years, before coming to Artisan in 2013.

During his time here, he has completed a Bachelor of Architecture at Deakin University, and has established himself as an integral part of our architecture team.

Chris has worked on projects of varying scale, budget, timeframe and procurement methodologies.

As a leader, Chris excels in the role of Project Architect and drives a project from its conception right through to completion on-site.
Tuan Mai

Associate
An architect in his hometown of Saigon, Vietnam, Tuan moved to Melbourne in 2011 to further his studies in a Master degree at Deakin University.
Tuan has been a key member of the Artisan family for over 8 years.
With a keen eye for detail , he leads our documentation team in delivering contract documentation and site contract administration for many of our major projects.
Tuan ensures projects are executed skillfully and delivered as seamlessly as possible everytime.
